Well, call me crazy but I'm looking for a 124 wagon, or failing that, a sedan. Prefer the original ('68 vintage) single-headlight style to the later style. The plan would be for this to be a project of mine (like I need another one) but I would prefer a non-runner with a reasonable body over a runner which is a complete rustbucket. I know of a few in WA (including a Seat 124 wagon) and had approached someone in NSW selling a wagon which was stripped and primered but that may have fallen through. Happy to consider shipping interstate if the right car comes up. Looking for a fairly original example rather than one which has been heavily midified, but would consider a runner with a twin-cam transplant depending on price and location.

I'm in no hurry, but as with these things there aren't that many out there.

How much did the bloke here in nsw offer it to you for?
He said he would reluctantly take $6500 for it to me, at which point I laughed and said good luck

Not sure if it's the same one, but this one appeared on ebay a few months ago (no bids). I followed up by email and had a conversation requesting being sent some photos of the rest of the car (interior, glass, rims, mechanicals etc) but none were forthcoming. Price wasn't discussed as I wanted to see the rest of the bits before making an offer.

$6500 for that car as it was (engine in parts, stripped, rust holes in body etc) would be a little optimistic to say the least.

More or less exactly how my conversations panned out with him (same bloke, same car). He mentioned the amount but I was only going to offer him what j thought it was worth after seeing the car and bits and pieces. The luxury of living not far from it suppose however personal circumstances meant I wasn't able to go any further with it. Good luck anyway and if I hear of anything I will let you know

Could you do a RHD conversion if a LHD one came up? Just thinking that a Lada 1200 Estate would be able to be converted to Fiat spec...

Could do, but would prefer RHD from original if possible. After all, Lada Estates were built in RHD...
